For 17 years, we have treated the waste problem as a design challenge rather than just a civic issue. We saw that crowded cities were struggling with mountains of garbage, and we decided, bas! (enough!). We needed a better way to handle organic waste, and that led us to design the Khamba, the Gaia digester, and our community systems.
