Cooking is a vital life skill. In our sessions, we mix healthy eating habits with the pure joy of making—and eating—snacks, all without a stove.

We believe in planting the seeds of healthy habits early. This session started with a discussion about the importance of food and water, followed by a worksheet on nutrition to reinforce the concepts.

A glimpse of our culinary session where we discuss healthy versus unhealthy foods. The children learn about hygiene, taste different ingredients, and then enjoy the meal they helped prepare.

Our flameless cooking workshop is in full swing. The table is prepped with fresh ingredients like bananas, corn, and chopped vegetables for the children to create their own healthy snacks.

Before our cooking session begins, we take a moment for mindfulness. The children practice Om chanting and positive affirmations, creating a calm and focused mindset for the activity ahead.

"Why do we need to eat different types of food?" I start our culinary sessions with questions to get the children thinking about nutrition and the importance of a balanced diet.

The children are excited to show off the paper burgers they made. Even when discussing food, we find creative ways to make it fun and engaging for everyone.

"Sabko kaisa laga cooking karke?" After the session, we gather feedback. The children were thrilled to have made their own corn chaat and banana popsicles, and they loved tasting their creations.

A collage from our Week 2 culinary session. The little chefs, in their paper hats, are seen enjoying the healthy and delicious food they prepared themselves.

A vibrant spread of fresh ingredients for our no-fire cooking class. We use colorful vegetables, beans, corn, and fruits to make healthy dishes like nachos and banana popsicles.

Proud little chefs with their culinary creations. From cheesy nachos to chocolate-dipped banana pops, they learned to make delicious treats with their own hands.

About Learning for Life: Cooking, Hygiene & More

We keep our studio batches tiny—just 6 to 10 children—so we can personally guide every little chef through hygiene, preparation, and the science behind nutrition. We do not just assemble ingredients; we facilitate conversations about why water matters, where our food comes from, and how to make smart, healthy choices, all while creating treats like fresh corn chaat or healthy banana popsicles.
