About this collection
I find that when we strip away the color, you really start to see the texture of the moment, like the way your baby’s hand grips your finger or that quiet, tired smile at three in the morning. It stops being about the clothes or the room's decor and starts being purely about the connection between you and your little one.
There is a honesty in black and white photography that I adore. When I am shooting a family session in Bangalore or traveling across South India for a home visit, I am always looking for the light, but sometimes, the distraction of bright colors can pull your eye away from the emotion. My black and white edits focus on high contrast and grain to highlight the expressions that define your family story.
I often choose to edit photos in black and white when the environment is busy or when the moment feels intimate enough that color would only interfere. Whether it is a newborn resting against your chest or a toddler’s cheeky grin, monochrome portraits have a way of feeling timeless. They don't date, and they carry a weight that color images sometimes miss.
