The Art of Detail: Curating Materials & Finishes

Material choice defines the longevity and comfort of your home. I focus on textures and finishes that work together to reflect your unique lifestyle.

Fabric selection is one of my favorite parts of the design process. Here, I am exploring a variety of textures and patterns to find the perfect combinations for a complete home. Every fabric matters in giving each corner its own unique personality.

My team and I are deep in the material selection phase for a new project. We are reviewing an exceptional collection of veneer samples, choosing colors and textures that will create a harmonious and sophisticated flow throughout the space.

Choosing the right tiles can be a game-changer for any room. I consider not just the look but also the scale, slip-resistance, and even the grout color to ensure the final result is both beautiful and perfectly suited to the space's function.

Wood selection is about more than just looks; it's about durability and purpose. Whether for doors, louvres, or furniture, I choose each type of wood, from teak to pine, to ensure it stands strong against wear and time while adding natural beauty.

Micro-concrete flooring is a trend I love for its seamless and modern finish. It's incredibly durable, easy to maintain, and customizable in color, making it a perfect choice for creating a sleek and elegant foundation in any home.

Lighting is a powerful tool in interior design. This video explores different types of lighting, from ambient to task and accent, showcasing how a layered lighting plan can transform the mood and functionality of a room.

This is how a custom design comes to life. We started with a client's idea for a unique tile pattern, translated it into a sketch, and then worked to have the real tile produced. This is the level of bespoke service I love to provide.

About this collection

When I select a wood veneer or a tile finish, I am not just looking at the aesthetic appeal. I am thinking about how that surface interacts with natural light throughout the day and how it holds up against the wear of daily life. It is about understanding the technical properties of the material—how it ages, cleans, and feels under your touch—to ensure that your home remains a sanctuary long after the initial reveal.

Interior design is rarely just about color palettes. It is a technical and sensory puzzle where every piece, from the grain of a veneer to the porosity of a tile, changes the outcome. My process starts in the material library, where we move beyond online images to physical samples.

The Science of Texture

We explore wood types based on purpose. Hardwoods like teak and oak offer longevity for high-traffic furniture, while softer species provide flexibility for intricate cabinetry. When we choose a finish—be it matte, PU, or laminate—we are deciding on maintenance levels, light reflection, and how the space feels on a humid Gurgaon afternoon.

Practicality Meets Aesthetics

Many clients ask about trends, but I focus on performance. For floors, we analyze slip resistance and grout thickness. For kitchens, we look at quartz density and hardware weight. My goal is to prevent the 'showroom fatigue' that often sets in when materials are chosen for looks alone rather than durability.

Your Role in the Process

I involve you in these decisions because your home needs to function for your habits. Whether you have children, pets, or a penchant for hosting, the materials we pick will either support your life or complicate it. We review swatches, touch the finishes, and test the pairings against your lighting plan. By the time we arrive at the execution phase, you know exactly what is going into your home and why.
