About Jewellery Care & Our Process
My rule is simple: treat your jewellery with as much care as you do your skin. Whether it is a delicate rented choker or a custom piece, wiping it with a dry cloth after use and storing it in an airtight pouch is the secret to keeping that sparkle alive for every event. A little maintenance goes a long way in ensuring you look royal every time you step out.
How to Keep Your Sparkle Alive
I often tell my clients that jewellery has feelings too. When you rent a set or commission a custom design, following a few simple steps ensures it stays as brilliant as the day you picked it up.
- Kundan & Polki: These are royalty, but moisture is their enemy. Sweat and water cause oxidation, making them turn black. After you wear them, wipe them gently with a dry cloth and store them in an airtight pouch, never in a velvet box.
- American Diamond (AD/CZ): These look like real diamonds but need a delicate touch. If they look dull, avoid soap or harsh chemicals. Just use a soft, dry toothbrush to gently remove dust from the settings to keep them shining.
- Pearls: These are sensitive to chemicals. My mantra is 'Last On, First Off.' Wear your pearls only after you have finished applying perfume, lotion, and makeup. Chemicals can permanently damage their glow.
- Oxidised Jewellery: Don't be fooled by their dark finish. They are prone to moisture damage. Keep them in a sealed bag, away from the humidity of bathrooms.
