Dog training should not be about dominance or quick fixes. It is about building a bond based on trust. Here, I break down why I choose reward-based methods and how you can raise a calm, confident dog.

Over my 12-year career, I've had the privilege of working with over 50 different breeds. This experience has taught me the importance of a holistic, breed-specific approach to training.

I am a strong advocate for reward-based training techniques. I believe in building a relationship based on trust and positive reinforcement, not fear and intimidation.

It has been an incredible opportunity to be part of a growing global community focused on educating and helping pet parents. My goal is to provide a safe space for learning and support.

A gentle reminder to take your dogs outdoors to safe, natural spaces. Letting them sniff, run, and just be dogs is one of the best things you can do for their well-being and has a huge positive impact on behavior.

The biggest mistake I made in my journey was not quitting my first apprenticeship with a punitive trainer sooner. Seeing dogs suffer under those methods solidified my commitment to reward-based training. It's the single most beautiful journey I have had.

When treats don't work outdoors, it's often because the puppy is overstimulated. That's why I teach them early on that praise, touch, and my happy expressions are also amazing rewards. This reduces dependency on food.

The most common mistake in puppy training is expecting them to behave like adult dogs. Puppies need consistent guidance until they mature, and my programs are designed to equip you with the skills to support them through fun and games.

About this collection

Most people come to me looking for a list of commands, but the real work is about changing your dog's emotional state. Whether you are dealing with leash reactivity or just starting with a puppy, the answer is rarely a stiffer collar or more forceful commands. It is about learning to read your dog. When you start observing their subtle body language—a lip lick, a turned head, or tense posture—you stop seeing 'misbehavior' and start seeing a dog that needs your support. This shift in perspective is the first step toward a calm, well-adjusted companion.

Why I Reject Punishment

Many pet parents come to me after trying methods found on the internet—dominance theories, 'alpha' rolls, or physical corrections. These methods don't build respect; they build fear. When you use pain or intimidation, you might suppress a behavior temporarily, but the underlying stress remains. My approach in Bangalore focuses on positive reinforcement because it creates a dog who wants to cooperate with you, not one who is simply afraid of the consequences.

The Science of Reward-Based Training

Training is about communication. When I use a 'reward-based' approach, I am reinforcing behaviors I want to see more of. This could be food, but it is often praise, play, or simply access to what the dog wants (like sniffing a tree on a walk). By consistently rewarding the 'good stuff,' we build a foundation where your dog looks to you for guidance, even in distracting environments.

Realistic Expectations for Urban Dogs

City life is overwhelming for dogs. There are cars, loud noises, and people everywhere. If your dog is struggling, it is often because their needs aren't being met or they are overstimulated. We look at everything: your daily routine, the amount of rest your dog is getting, and the outlets they have for their natural instincts.

We don't aim for a 'fully trained' robot that never makes a mistake. We aim for a partnership. If you have an adolescent dog or a rescue with fear issues, remember that progress is rarely a straight line. It takes time, consistency, and a huge amount of patience. I am here to help you navigate those ups and downs.
