Community and Commercial Spaces Design
Architecture for us goes beyond mere structure. Whether designing a rural school or a private office, we focus on how light, ventilation, and sustainable materials shape the way people learn, work, and interact.
A classroom at the Talaricheruvu Rural School, where students sit on the floor in a traditional manner. The custom-designed jaali wall allows for cross-ventilation and fills the learning space with balanced, natural light.
In this classroom, we used strategically placed windows alongside the geometric jaali screen. This provides students with a connection to the outdoors while ensuring the room remains cool and well-lit throughout the day.
A detail shot looking through a window into a classroom at the rural school. The layers of jaali screens and bamboo roofing create a rich texture and a gentle, diffused light that is ideal for a learning environment.
An aerial view of the completed Talaricheruvu Rural School, showing how the geometric bamboo canopy flows over the landscape. The rooftop is covered in bougainvillea, integrating the building with its natural surroundings.
This is a render of a private office we designed for an actor in Hyderabad. The double-height workspace is organized around a central staircase, with large glass walls that connect the interior to an outdoor terrace, filling the office with light.
About Spaces for Community & Commerce
At the Talaricheruvu Rural School, we used geometric jaali screens and bamboo roofing to manage heat and light, creating a passive cooling system that requires no electricity. We approach commercial projects with this same intensity, focusing on how a floor plan, light paths, and material choice can directly improve user well-being and productivity in an office environment.
Our work in community and commercial architecture is rooted in the belief that a building should serve its environment, not fight it. In the Talaricheruvu Rural School, we replaced standard air conditioning with climate-responsive design. By utilizing local materials like bamboo and designing for cross-ventilation, we created a space that stays cool and well-lit without constant power usage. This approach to sustainability remains central to our office and commercial designs as well.
When we plan an office interior in Hyderabad or Bangalore, we look at the flow of natural light and the layout of the workspace to minimize energy costs and enhance focus. We prioritize materials that age well, such as exposed brick and natural stone, which require less maintenance and create a tactile, grounding environment for employees. Whether we are designing a school, a retail space, or a corporate office, we start by understanding the specific needs of the users. This might mean custom-designed furniture that optimizes floor space or window placements that frame the landscape while shielding the interior from harsh glare. Our collaborative process involves testing materials and building models, allowing us to see exactly how a room will feel before it is built. We invite you to reach out to discuss your requirements for your next community or commercial build.
