On-Court Technical Mastery: Precision Tennis Coaching
We break down every stroke to build a reliable, match-winning game. See how we refine your contact, balance, and footwork on the clay courts at our Kothanur facility.
A coaching moment focused on the finish of a shot. I am explaining to an athlete that maintaining a straight racket face at contact, regardless of ball height, is fundamental for consistency.
We train our players to handle unpredictable situations. This drill at the net focuses on problem-solving and quick reactions, teaching the athlete to keep the racket face straight even on difficult volleys.
This video demonstrates the stages of learning a new move. We show the 'before' and 'after' to highlight how focusing on small details in form and technique leads to significant improvement.
A senior player at our academy practices his service motion on the clay court. We focus on developing a fluid, powerful, and repeatable motion for this crucial shot.

About this collection
Most players rush their preparation. We focus entirely on your contact point and racket face angle. If you aren't maintaining a straight line at impact, you lose control regardless of your power. We don't just hit balls here; we drill mechanics until that straight line becomes second nature to your muscle memory.
Precision Over Power
Technical mastery isn't about hitting the hardest ball; it is about hitting the right ball consistently. At Marquis Tennis Academy, we start with the contact point. Whether you are working on a forehand, a volley, or a serve, we obsess over the racket face angle. If your technique breaks down at the point of impact, your power is wasted. We use video analysis to show you exactly where your swing path deviates, helping you build a stroke that holds up under the pressure of a real match.
Why We Train on Clay
Our sessions take place on 11 professional red clay courts at the XLR8 Sports Arena in Kothanur. Clay demands patience and precision. It slows the game down, forcing you to move efficiently and construct points rather than relying on a lucky winner. You will learn to slide, maintain balance, and recover quickly. This environment is essential for developing the footwork and tactical discipline needed for both state-level tournaments and the international pro circuit.
A Structured Approach to Improvement
We don't believe in endless, mindless rallying. Every 90-minute or 3.5-hour session is structured to maximize your output:
- Basket Feeding (Dead Ball): We isolate technical flaws, repeating specific motions until the mechanics are ingrained.
- Match Simulation (Live Ball): We introduce pressure. Can you execute the same swing you practiced when you are running for a ball or down a break point?
- ABC Training: Agility, Balance, and Coordination. We integrate dedicated off-court blocks to ensure your body can handle the demands of your technique.
Whether you are a junior learning the foundation of the grip or a pro-circuit athlete working on tournament periodization, we provide the technical feedback loop you need to stop guessing and start winning.
Marquis Tennis Academy
I'm Chris, and I’ve spent my career moving from Indian courts to Wimbledon, always obsessing over why some players break through and others stall. At Marquis Tennis Academy, we don't care about shortcuts. We care about the messy, scientific grind that actually builds a pro-level game.
