Parade Floats with Social and Rural Themes in Karnataka
We build parade floats that bring local stories to life on the streets. From social messages like water conservation to celebrations of rural folk traditions, we carve themes into sculptures that grab attention.
Art can also carry an important message. For this float, I created a scene about water conservation and farming, with a giant golden tap as the centerpiece to grab attention and make people think about this vital resource.
This parade float captures the energy of a village festival. It features a traditionally decorated bull, a farmer, and a tiger character, all sculpted and painted to bring a folk tale to life on the streets.
Here I am with my team in front of a float depicting a classic village home. We included small details like the tiled roof and a lizard on a branch to make the scene feel authentic and familiar.
About Storytelling for Social & Rural Themes
When we design these floats, we do not just stack props on a truck. We use high-density EPS foam carving to create lightweight, durable figures—like that giant golden tap or our village home scenes—that survive long parade routes without breaking. It is about making sure the visual message is clear and vibrant from the road, not just when you are standing right next to it.
Building a parade float that connects with a crowd requires a balance between scale and durability. You need something big enough to catch the eye from 50 feet away, but detailed enough to tell a story. Whether it is a Zilla Panchayat project or a local festival, we follow a process that ensures structural integrity and visual impact.
How we tell your story
- Conceptualization: We start with sketches to define your theme, whether it is water conservation, farming, or rural folk life. We figure out the centerpieces first to ensure the message is clear.
- Carving & Structure: We use high-density EPS blocks for the sculptures. It is light but sturdy. We add an internal Mild Steel skeleton so these figures do not wobble or crack when the truck hits a speed bump.
- Finishing: Spray painting is key. Colors need to be vibrant and high-contrast so they pop in daylight and under streetlights. We use artificial grass and foliage to hide the vehicle chassis, making the whole setup look like a moving stage.
Practical details
We have worked on floats for festivals across Kolar and Mandya, so we know how to handle parade logistics. You need to provide the vehicle, and we bring the art, the team, and the welding gear to mount everything securely. If you have a specific social message or cultural theme in mind, let’s talk about how to make it sakkath (awesome) for your next event.
