About Grow Your Own: Vegetable & Fruit Gardens
We don't just drop off plants and leave. Every vegetable garden we set up includes our custom Nutri-mix soil—a specific blend of red soil, cocopeat, and vermicompost—that helps plants like brinjal, lady's finger, and tomatoes thrive in Chennai's heat.
Growing food in a city like Chennai comes with challenges, mainly the intense heat and space constraints. We do not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Our process begins by assessing your terrace or balcony sunlight availability, then recommending the right configuration.
For smaller areas, we use high-density polyethylene (HDPE) grow bags. These are UV-treated to withstand the harsh sun and provide better breathability for roots compared to standard plastic pots. Whether you want a simple starter kit with 10–12 plants or a full-scale terrace farm with 30+ plants, our setup includes the infrastructure to make it sustainable.
Our signature Nutri-mix soil blend is engineered for local conditions. It combines red soil for structure, cocopeat for water retention, and vermicompost for steady nutrition. This helps your vegetables survive the summer without constant monitoring.
If you are worried about water usage, we install drip irrigation systems for larger setups. These connect to your existing terrace tap and deliver water directly to the roots, saving water and ensuring your plants get the right amount even when you are busy. We also set up galvanized iron (GI) frames with agro-shade nets if your terrace gets too much direct afternoon sun.
Once we finish the setup, we provide a quick walkthrough on how to prune, monitor for pests, and harvest at the right time. Growing your own food is about more than just the harvest—it is about knowing exactly what goes into your soil and onto your plate.
