About Karnataka's Heritage Trails
On these trails, we go beyond the standard climb. We build in deliberate stops at places like the Sarvajna Peetha on Kodachadri or the Varanga Jain temple to really connect with the local history of Malenadu. It is about the walk, the stories, and the culture, not just reaching the peak. You get a guide who knows these paths and the history behind them, ensuring you don't miss the details.
For me, trekking is a way to understand the land. Our heritage trails combine the physical challenge of the Western Ghats with visits to places that matter to our culture. We visit Kavimane, the ancestral home of Kuvempu, and walk the ruins of Kavaledurga fort. We don't rush these visits. We take the time to appreciate the architecture and the silence of these places.
All our heritage treks are all-inclusive. You don't need to worry about the logistics. We handle the transport from Bengaluru, the homestay arrangements, the forest permits, and the meals. You just focus on the 'chaarana suttata' (trekking and wandering). Whether it is the ancient ponds at Devagange or the Tejasvi Museum in Kottigehaara, these trips are designed for people who want more than just a quick hike.
Our groups are always a mix of friendly, like-minded people. We follow the 'homely feel' (ondhu mane feeling) philosophy. We keep our groups small, respect the environment, and follow the simple rule of leaving the place better than we found it. If you want to experience the raw beauty of Karnataka with some history and culture on the side, this is the right place.
Chaarana Suttata
I have been organizing treks for 12 years, not to sell tours, but to bring together people who love the outdoors. We run our groups like a family. We handle all the permits, stays, and food, so you get that 'homely feel' even when you are miles away from the city.
