A quick weekend escape from Bangalore. Wake up in a tent, sit by the campfire, and hike up to catch the first light of day.

The beautiful orange sun rising over a misty landscape, as seen from the top of Minchukallu Betta. This is the view we wake up to.

Our campsite at night, with tents pitched and trekkers gathered around a crackling campfire. This is the perfect end to a day of hiking.

Our group gathered at the top, waiting for the sun to rise. These early morning moments are peaceful and magical.

About Minchukallu Betta: Camping & Sunrise Treks

It is a short drive from the city, but it feels a world away. We keep it simple—tents, sleeping mats, and a warm fire at night. You just need to bring yourself, a bit of energy for the morning climb, and a promise to keep the place clean because, like I always say, swachhata (cleanliness) is important, guru.

When you join a trek to Minchukallu Betta, you are not signing up for luxury. You are signing up for a proper outdoor experience. We leave Bangalore, head towards the base, and set up camp.

Why this trek?

It is perfect if you want to break the routine without spending hours on a bus. The climb to the top is moderate, making it accessible for beginners, but the views of the sunrise are as good as any of the tough Western Ghats peaks.

What is included:

  • Stay: 1-night camping in tents with sleeping mats and blankets provided.
  • Food: Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
  • Experience: A guided morning trek to the summit to watch the sunrise, and an evening campfire session. We keep the music light and the conversations real.

Important things to know:

  • Transport: We offer options for self-reach or transport from Bangalore in a tempo traveller. Please clarify your preference when we chat.
  • Cleanliness: I am very strict about littering. We bring back everything we take up. If you cannot respect the trail, this group is not for you.
  • Groups: My treks are known for the mane feeling (homely vibe). You will meet people from different walks of life, and usually, by the time we return to Bangalore, everyone is friends. It is a family vibe, not a commercial tour.

I have been wandering the trails of Karnataka for 12 years. Trekking for me is not a business; it is about bringing like-minded people together for a homely experience. When you join my treks, you are joining a group of friends, not just a tour.
