About Behind The Scenes: The Handmade Promise
People often think handmade just means pretty, but it is really about the precise temperature controls and wick placement that stop a candle from tunneling. When you see me in these photos, I am usually obsessing over the pour rate in our Bengaluru humidity or testing how a new fragrance reacts with the soy. It takes patience to get a consistent burn time of 8 to 22 hours, but that is the difference between a throwaway gift and one your guests will actually light.
Running a small business is often romanticized, but the reality is more 'dark circles mehnat ke' as I call them. My workshop in JP Nagar is the heart of Candles with a K. Every batch starts with sourcing 100% soy wax, which behaves differently depending on the city weather. If the humidity is too high, the curing process changes, and I have to adjust my technique to ensure the candle does not develop cracks or frosting.
My team and I handle everything from the initial scent selection to the final tulle fabric wrap. Whether you choose Japanese Cherry or classic Lavender Lemongrass, the process is entirely hands-on. I believe your gifts deserve better than mass-produced items, which is why I offer full customization for wedding return gifts, corporate hampers, and birthday favors. If you have a theme in mind, from floral botanicals to festive clay pots, we figure out how to make it happen while keeping the burn quality high. My goal is to create products that feel personal because they were made with intent.
