Upcycled & Experimental Art Commissions
We love a challenge and thrive on turning unconventional materials into art. From cardboard portraits to newspaper installations, we turn the ordinary into something wild.
Our signature upcycled art. We find it so satisfying to give discarded materials a new life, like these portraits of Bob Marley and Roger Federer carved from old cardboard boxes.
For this project, we were challenged to use only newspapers. We created life sized sculptures and backdrops, transforming the Windsor halls with recycled materials for The Hindu's event.
A close up of one of our newspaper sculptures. This project took four sleepless nights, but exploring a new medium and pushing its limits was an incredible experience for our team.
About Upcycled & Experimental Art
For our cardboard portraits, we hand-cut layered corrugated sheets to create depth through shadow play, meaning no paint or ink is used. Since this is a delicate process, we mount every piece in a custom shadow box to keep those edges safe and ready for your home or office.
When we say we can turn junk into art, we mean it. Our experimental side is all about finding potential in the discarded, whether it is old newspapers, leftover cardboard boxes, or scrap metal. We have learned that sometimes the best materials are the ones everyone else throws away.
For our signature 3D cardboard portraits, we do not just sketch; we carve. By carefully layering corrugated cardboard and playing with flute directions, we build high-contrast faces, like Roger Federer or Bob Marley, that rely entirely on texture and shadow rather than pigment. It is an industrial, raw look that works perfectly in modern living rooms or office lobbies. Each piece is treated with a matte sealant to stop it from aging and then tucked into a custom shadow box to keep the delicate edges protected.
Then there is our event decor work. Remember that project at the Windsor halls where we transformed everything using only newspapers? That was a massive test of endurance, but seeing a full-scale sculpture rise from yesterday’s news is a rush we never get tired of. Whether it is a sustainable installation for a brand launch or a private commission for a feature wall, we love a brief that sounds impossible. If you have a pile of materials lying around or just a wild idea, let’s talk about how to make it something permanent.
