Mastering Portrait Features: Eyes, Hair & Expressions
Realism starts with the small details. Learn how to capture the light in the eye, the texture of hair, and the expressions that give a portrait its soul.
A creative shot of a realistic eye drawing. I believe the eyes are the most important feature to get right in any portrait.
The same drawing, without the text. The goal is to make the eyes look so real they seem to be looking back at you.
About this collection
When I sketch, I don't start by drawing a whole face. I spend hours focused on the light reflection in an iris or the individual flow of hair strands. This is the core method I teach in my workshops: stopping the habit of drawing symbols for features and learning to sketch what you actually see.
In my live, 1-month online workshop, we break these complexities down. You will learn to use graphite and charcoal for deep contrast, how to blend with makeup brushes for smooth skin, and why a Mono Tombow eraser is the most important tool for sharp highlights. We meet three times a week via Zoom, and I give personal feedback on your homework. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your commission work, my goal is to help you move from flat drawings to hyper-realistic art that feels alive. We also cover landscape sketching, sky blending, and trees, ensuring you have a complete toolkit for realistic drawing. All classes are conducted in Hindi, making it easier for you to grasp the nuances of the technique.

Hi, I'm Vikash. Art isn't just lines for me, it's feeling. I spend hours with my graphite and charcoal chasing details that make a face come alive, and I love showing my students how to do the same.
