Festival and Large Event Dance Warm-ups
Getting 5,000 people moving together is not just about the steps. It is about reading the crowd, keeping the momentum high, and turning a massive field into a giant dance floor.
This was my first Mixtape event in London, and I loved the joy of leading a big crowd again. The vibe was amazing. This video captures the energy of the Holi festival mashup, a perfect celebration of color and dance.
Leading a warm-up session for a marathon with a crowd of over 5,000 people. The feeling when the entire crowd waves their hands with you is just amazing. These are the moments that help me grow stronger and love my job more every day.
About this collection
When I am on stage for a marathon warm-up or a festival, I do not just teach choreography. I read the crowd. If I feel the energy dipping, I switch up the tempo or move into an interactive drill where the audience gets to lead the movement. It is about creating a bridge between the music and the people, so every single person, from the front row to the very back, feels like they are part of the show, not just watching it.
Managing a crowd of 5,000 is a skill that goes beyond just knowing the steps. It requires high-intensity vocal motivation and specific stagecraft. My approach to festival dance fitness and marathon warm-ups is built on three pillars:
1. High-Visibility Choreography
Large crowds need movements that read well from a distance. I use exaggerated, energetic gestures and clear, repetitive patterns so anyone in the back can follow along without needing a perfect view of the stage.
2. Crowd Animation & MC Skills
I don’t just dance; I facilitate. Using a headset mic, I switch between fitness cues and MC work to keep the engagement high. Whether it is a Holi mashup or a pre-run warm-up, I integrate ice-breakers, group face-offs, and interactive waves to build community in real-time.
3. Safety and Energy Flow
Large-scale events, especially marathons, require careful safety protocols. My warm-ups include dynamic stretching designed for cold muscles to prevent injury, combined with high-tempo BollyBeats and Zumba rhythms to prime the body for the main event.
I handle the logistical side, including technical setups and AV coordination, so the event flow remains seamless. From the first beat to the final hype, my goal is to ensure the crowd is buzzing and ready for whatever comes next.
