Custom Spiral Staircases for Your Home

A well-built spiral staircase does more than save space. I design these as central features, using solid oak and steel to ensure every step is strong and distinct.

This spiral staircase fits neatly into the corner of a living space, providing access to a mezzanine without taking up a large footprint.

About this collection

I do not use off-the-shelf kits. Every custom spiral staircase here starts with a site survey and a 3D model, ensuring the steel pole sits perfectly and the treads align with your specific floor layout. Because I weld the steel and shape the wood myself, we can adjust the rise and radius to fit even the tightest corners.

Designing Your Custom Spiral Staircase

My process begins with how you use your space. A spiral staircase is often the solution for restricted footprints, but it should not feel cramped. By using a heavy-gauge 150mm mild steel central pole, I build a structure that is rigid and free of the bounce common in lighter, pre-fabricated kits.

The Build

Structural Foundation: All steelwork, including the central column and cantilever plates, is laser-cut and welded in my workshop in Co. Wexford. I finish these in durable, anti-rust coatings like matte black or anthracite grey.

Treads and Inlays: For the steps, I use 40mm thick American White Oak or Premium Teak. The walnut inlay is not just aesthetic. It provides a necessary visual edge and improves grip for safety.

Glass and Railing: If you want to keep the space feeling open, I often pair these with 12mm toughened glass balustrades or curved steel spindles, depending on the look you prefer.

Installation

Once the components are fabricated, my team handles the mechanical fixing. We secure the base to the floor and the head to your existing beams, ensuring the staircase is solid from the first step to the top landing. If you are renovating a home in Ireland and need a staircase that is built to last rather than a catalogue item, let us look at your floor plan.
