Welcome to our corner of green advice. Whether you are struggling with yellowing leaves or just want to know how much to water, here is how we keep plants thriving in Delhi.

The most common question from new gardeners is "how much to water?" I'm showing you the simple finger test. If the soil sticks to your finger, don't water. If it's dry, it's time to water.

This is the Sweet Potato Vine, a fast-growing creeper. It comes in this beautiful purple and also a vibrant light green. It's great for ground cover or as a climbing vine.

About Gardening 101: Tips from the Expert

Stop guessing about water. The simplest hack I teach every customer is the finger test: gently insert your finger an inch into the soil. If it comes out clean and dry, grab the watering can. If you feel damp soil, hold off. Overwatering is the biggest killer, and this one trick saves more plants than any expensive fertilizer.

Understanding Your Plant's Needs

Most plant problems aren't a mystery; they are usually simple issues with water, light, or soil. Here are a few things I tell everyone who walks into the nursery in Siraspur.

1. Light vs. Shade Don't force a sun-loving plant into a dark corner. If your plant is stretching (getting tall and thin), it is begging for more light. Move it near a window or a balcony where it gets bright, indirect sunlight.

2. The Right Potting Mix Never use plain garden soil for indoor pots. It compacts too easily and chokes roots. We recommend mixing in cocopeat, perlite, and vermicompost for drainage. It keeps the roots breathing and prevents soggy soil.

3. Solving Common Pests See sticky webs or white spots? That is likely Mealybug. Don't panic. Spray it with neem oil or our ready-to-use solution. Catching it early prevents the spread to your other green babies.

4. Don't Rush Repotting Bought a new plant? Let it settle in its nursery bag for a week. Your home environment is different from the nursery shade. Give it time to acclimate before moving it to a new ceramic or roto pot.
