About Sibling Sessions: Fun & Friendship
If you are worried about your kids refusing to sit still, do not be. My studio at Rayasandra is designed for play, not just posing. The best sibling photos happen when I let them be themselves—whether that is a gentle, quiet cuddle or a spontaneous burst of energy. I have plenty of props like tiny beds, crowns, and textures to keep them engaged, but often, the most beautiful shots are just them interacting naturally while I wait for that perfect, fleeting connection.
My Approach to Sibling Photography
Photography for me is about preserving a moment in time before those chubby hands and giggles change forever. When photographing siblings, I aim for more than just a smiling portrait. I look for the protective gaze of a big sister, the secret jokes between brothers, and the comfort they find in each other.
Studio vs. Outdoor Sessions
- In-Studio (Rayasandra, Bangalore): My studio setup feels like a comfy home, perfect for newborn and infant sibling sessions. I control the lighting and environment, which helps keep things calm for the little ones. We can use themed backdrops or simple, classic sets to keep the focus entirely on the children.
- Outdoor: If your kids are a bit older and need room to run, I love taking these sessions outdoors around Bangalore, Kolar, or Anantapur. The natural light creates a beautiful, soft atmosphere, and kids are often much more relaxed when they can explore freely.
Tips for a Great Session
- Coordination over Matching: You do not need to wear identical outfits. I love color-coordinated sets, but comfort is priority number one. If the kids are comfortable, they will be happy.
- Don't Stress the Chaos: If the kids are being kids, that is exactly what I want to capture. I have two assistants available for larger sessions to help manage the flow and keep everyone safe and smiling.
- Timing: For newborns with an older sibling, we plan the session around the baby's nap schedule. For older children, we keep it active and fun.
Whether you want a classic studio portrait or a candid outdoor story, my goal is to ensure you walk away with images that feel like your family.
