About Handcrafted Lighting: Chandeliers & Lamps
These aren't just off-the-shelf shades. I knot every piece from 100% natural cotton cord, usually over rust-proof metal frames. Since I build these to order, we can tweak the drop length or color gradient to perfectly match your ceiling height or furniture palette, so you aren't stuck with a one-size-fits-all piece.
Light Up Your Space, Naturally
When I'm creating these lamps and chandeliers, my goal is to turn a standard light source into a focal point. I work with 100% cotton cords because they hold structure while feeling soft, and they cast such a lovely, diffused glow when the light filters through the knots. Whether it is a 3-tier chandelier for a high-ceiling living room or a compact bedside lamp, the lighting effect changes depending on how dense I make the knotting.
Customization & Process
I treat every project like a conversation.
- Color & Ombre: I can use gradient dyeing (ombre) or specific thread colors to match your existing upholstery or wall paint.
- Hardware: My chandeliers are built on rust-proof metal frames, and I include all the necessary mounting structure. Note that for lamps, I provide the shade, and standard electrical fittings are usually sourced locally to match your specific socket needs.
- Care: Since these are handcrafted textiles, I include a care card with every order on how to keep the fringe dust-free and neatly combed.
Where They Work Best
I have seen these pieces go into everything from cozy nursery corners to commercial spaces like cafes in CP. If you are ordering for a high-traffic area, just let me know, and I can adjust the knotting density to ensure it is durable and easy to maintain. Let's chat about what you are imagining for your space.
