About The Anti-Hero: Behind the Decks
People think being a DJ is just about having a great playlist, but it’s actually about reading the energy of the room. I’m constantly looking for those micro-moments—the shift in mood when a crowd starts to tire or the sudden surge of excitement—to decide exactly when to drop the next remix or switch genres. Whether it’s a tight set at The Fixx or a sprawling wedding reception, my process is always focused on keeping the floor locked in.
When I'm behind the decks, I’m not just a selector; I’m an entertainer. My 'anti-hero' approach means I don't follow the status quo of playing a predictable, static set. I prefer live mashups, switching between high-energy Punjabi anthems, commercial English tracks, and desi techno beats to ensure the energy never dips.
I use industry-standard Pioneer gear because I need total control to execute live mashups on the fly. You'll catch me regularly at venues like The Fixx, Toca, and Social in Bengaluru, where I refine my set lists for different crowds.
