Textured & Mixed-Media Wall Murals
Walls should feel as good as they look. I use modeling paste, resin, and raw materials to bring tactile depth into your personal or professional spaces.
This is the "Land of Rising Sun" piece, finding its permanent home at Arunachal Bhavan in Delhi. Seeing my textured, hand-painted art installed in a beautifully designed space, under the perfect lighting, is a feeling I can't quite describe.
This video shows the scale and detail of the "Land of Rising Sun" artwork. I used resin for the vibrant sky and river, and created a rough, stone-like texture for the mountains to capture the beautiful landscape of Arunachal Pradesh.
A proud moment standing next to the finished "Land of Rising Sun" mural before its final installation. Creating large-scale pieces like this is a team effort, and it’s so rewarding to see it ready to go to its new home.
This video shows the journey of creating a large, geode-inspired wall mural for a client in Dubai. I love building up the layers, from the flowing resin to placing each crystal by hand, to create a piece that has incredible depth and texture.
This wall at Café Quaint is a great example of upcycled art. We repurposed old dinner plates, painting and arranging them in a pattern that reflects the local architecture, turning something old into a meaningful and sustainable art installation.
About Textured & Mixed-Media Murals
When I work on 3D relief murals, I don't just apply paint; I use heavy modeling paste and palette knives to build physical ridges up to 10mm high. This process creates a landscape of texture that shifts with the light in your room, turning a flat wall into a tactile experience that actually changes throughout the day.
Art should not be something you only look at from a distance. My approach to mixed-media murals is about adding a dimension of touch to your space.
Why Texture Matters
Most wall art is a flat print or a painted graphic. I prefer to build volume. Whether it is using clay and modeling paste for 3D reliefs or resin and crystals for a geode-inspired flow, the goal is to make the wall feel like it has a life of its own. I finish these pieces with heavy-duty varnish or fixative sprays to ensure that even with the added depth, they remain durable and easy to clean.
My Process
Every wall is a collaboration. We start by discussing the vibe—do you want the calm, organic flow of a river, or the sharp, geometric lines of a mountainside? I sketch out the composition first, then move to the actual build. You might see me on the floor, messy with materials, but that is where the magic happens.
Sustainability in Art
I love working with the materials you already have. For projects like the one I did at Café Quaint, we took old dinner plates and repurposed them into an architectural installation. If you have objects that hold meaning to you, let’s find a way to incorporate them into your mural. It keeps the art sustainable and makes the final piece deeply personal.
Whether it is a professional space like Arunachal Bhavan or your living room wall, I treat every project with the same level of care. Let’s make your wall speak.
