Behind the Scenes: My Creative Process for Hand-Painted Art
Art is not just what you see on the wall. It is hours of charcoal dust, precise lines, and absolute patience. Here is a look at how I work.
This video shows some of the process behind creating a detailed color portrait of a spiritual guru. It takes many hours of focused work, from the first pencil strokes to the final touches, to bring a piece like this to life.
A look at my workspace where I bring ideas to life. Every painting starts here, on a canvas on my easel, with a palette of colors and a clear vision. This is where the work happens before it reaches your home.
About Behind the Scenes
When you see a portrait, you see the final result. You do not see the 3 to 48 hours of focus that go into every piece. I do not use digital filters or AI shortcuts for my work. Every line, shade, and color is applied by hand using professional grade Faber Castell pencils or quality acrylics on canvas. It is a quiet, time-consuming process, but it is the only way to capture a likeness that feels real.
My process is simple because I believe that if you love your work, the result will show it. Whether I am sketching a portrait or planning a mural, I start with a direct conversation with you.
The Art Process:
- For Portraits: You share a photo. I move to the drawing board with Brustro paper and my pencils. I do not rush. I share reference versus sketch comparisons so you know exactly what is happening before I finalize the details.
- For Murals: I work directly on your walls, from cafes in Mumbai to spaces across India. I use Asian Paints Royale and artist-grade acrylics for a finish that is not just bold, but durable and wipeable.
This work is my escape from the noise. Sometimes it takes 16-hour days to get the lighting right on a face or the perspective correct on a wall, but when it is done, the effort disappears. I focus on quality over speed, creating pieces that have actual depth and soul, not just surface-level graphics.
