I make this sindoor using nothing but the Sindoori plant grown on our own farm. It is 100% organic, lead-free, and safe enough to trust every single day.

This video shows the full circle of our sindoor creation. It starts with the Sindoori plant on our farm, moves to the careful hand-processing in our workshop, and ends with a final product that is 100% organic, safe, and packaged in a reusable wooden box.

A closer look at the Sindoori plant itself, the source of our all-natural kumkum. You can see the journey from the spiky fruit to the vibrant red seeds within, and how easily the pure pigment can be removed with just water, proving its natural quality.

Our plant-based sindoor is not only crafted with organic ingredients but also comes in a beautiful, reusable wooden box. This reflects my commitment to sustainability, honoring both our traditions and our planet.

This heartwarming message from a customer shows how much the quality of our sindoor matters. I am so happy that she, her mom, and her sister all appreciate the purity and packaging of our traditional plant sindoor.

About The Art of Pure Sindoor

Unlike store-bought sindoor that often hides lead and synthetic dyes behind a vibrant red, my kumkum is simply ground Bixa orellana seeds. You will notice the color is a natural, earthy red—not a neon chemical stain. Because it is essentially plant powder, it washes off easily with water, making it gentle enough for sensitive skin and safe for daily use.

Why Traditional Sindoor Matters

When I became a mother, I started looking closely at the label of everything in my home. Traditional sindoor is a significant part of our culture, meant to be applied near the Ajna Chakra, but most options on the market contain lead and artificial dyes. I wanted to create an alternative that lets you keep the ritual without the worry.

The Sindoori Plant

Every batch of our sindoor starts on our farm in Baijnathpur. We cultivate the Bixa orellana plant without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The vibrant pigment comes directly from the seeds within the spiky fruits of the plant.

How It Is Made

We don't use high-speed industrial grinders that heat up and degrade the product. We hand-process the seeds in small batches using traditional techniques. This maintains the integrity of the natural powder.

What You Get:

  • Pure Ingredient: 100% dried and ground Sindoori plant seeds. No fillers.
  • Safe Pigmentation: A matte, earthy red-orange hue. It does not stain like chemical makeup.
  • Sustainable Packaging: Each pot is a hand-turned Sheesham wood container that you can reuse once the product is finished.

Since this is edible-quality plant powder, it is naturally hypoallergenic. It is meant for forehead application, though it is safe enough that accidental contact with eyes or skin around children is not a cause for panic.
