The magic of a finished moon lamp. This photo, taken in the dark, shows how beautifully these creations glow.

A group of proud moon-makers. Everyone's lamp is unique, and they all look fantastic lit up together.

A table full of participants getting hands-on with the texture paste to create the moon's surface. This is the fun, messy part.

About this collection

You will be working with MDF cutouts, texture paste, and LED components to build your lamp from scratch. It gets a bit messy as we sculpt the craters, but do not worry about the cleanup—I take care of that part. You just focus on the texture and making it glow.

Creating a moon lamp is about bringing a piece of the cosmos into your home. We start by layering specialized texture paste onto an MDF board to create those iconic crater details. It is a tactile, slightly messy process that is surprisingly meditative. Once the base is sculpted and dried, we guide you through the painting phase to capture the subtle shadows and highlights that make the moon look real. The final step is the electrical assembly, where we integrate the LED lights and battery mechanism so your piece is fully functional. These workshops are a hit in Bengaluru for anyone wanting to learn a new craft or simply unwind after a long week. You do not need to be an artist to join. I will be there to help you with the trickier bits of the wiring and to guide your brushwork. It is a complete DIY experience where you walk out with a unique, glowing souvenir. We host these sessions in various partner cafes across the city and at our Harlur studio. It is perfect for a date, a solo creative escape, or a gift-making session.
