Behind the Canvas: My Creative Process
Welcome to the messy, real side of Artbeats. Here is where the sketches, the coffee-stained pages, and the raw ideas turn into the pieces that eventually reach your home.
I thought being an artist meant I would just be painting. It turns out I am also a finance manager, a logistics expert, and a content creator. Building a dream from scratch isn't always tidy, but I am learning to enjoy the whole messy, beautiful process.
The hardest part of starting is thinking you need everything figured out. I learned to focus on just one thing: my art. I perfected my products piece by piece, and the brand was built slowly and thoughtfully from that foundation.
My art journey has taught me that perfection doesn't come from endless planning. It comes from starting, from making mistakes, and from showing up anyway. The journey itself, with all its messy sketches and small wins, is the most rewarding part.
The little girl in me who used to get lost in daydreams would be so proud to see how those dreams have taken shape. Every piece I create carries a part of that child's wonder. I am truly grateful to be living this life.
Being an artist means seeing the world differently. It means feeling deeply, noticing beauty in small moments, and carrying emotions others might miss. Here I am at a workshop, sharing that joy with others.
For me, being an artist means feeling everything a little deeper. This is a quiet moment of sketching, where ideas begin to take form on paper before they move to canvas.
Some days ideas flow, and other days they do not. But I create anyway. I create not for perfection or for praise, but because something within me says that this needs to exist. This is my messy, real, creative process on the studio floor.
About this collection
My studio is not a polished showroom; it is a chaotic space where I experiment with textures, acrylics, and threads on the floor. When you commission a piece, you are stepping into this real process with me. We work through sketches and color palettes over weeks to ensure the final result truly reflects your story, not just a fleeting trend.
Why the Mess Matters
People often see the finished painting and imagine a clean, quiet gallery setting. The reality is that my Mumbai studio is full of half-finished sketches, tubes of heavy-body acrylics, and fabric scraps. I believe this physical mess is essential. It represents the freedom to make mistakes. When I work on a commission, I do not start with a rigid blueprint. We spend time in a discovery session, a video call to understand your space and the energy you want to invite into your home.
The 'Slow' Philosophy
I do not believe in rushing art to hit a deadline or follow a trend. Whether it is a small 8x10 inch desk piece or a large 5ft canvas, each work takes time. I layer textures, apply gold leaf, and incorporate hand embroidery only when the composition feels right. You are not just buying a painting; you are waiting for a piece that has been thought through.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you share updates while painting? Yes. Since I co-create with you, I share progress updates, especially for large commissions. This keeps you involved in the journey.
How do you handle shipping? Every canvas is carefully packaged in five-layer corrugated styling with corner protectors. My work reaches homes across India, safe and sound.
Is this just for homes? Not at all. I work with clients looking for corporate gifts that carry meaning rather than mass-produced items.
Artbeats by Keerthana
I am Keerthana. I built Artbeats in 2022 because I was tired of art being trapped behind glass in galleries. I wanted it to breathe, to be worn, and to sit in your living room as a reminder of something real.
