My Story: From MTV Artist to Music Mentor
See how two decades in the music industry shaped the way I teach. It is not just about playing notes; it is about building a foundation that lasts.
This is where it all started for me, on stage as a singer, songwriter, and composer. My background as a professional musician signed by major labels gives me a unique perspective that I now use to guide the next generation of artists and build effective music education programs.
My work as an artist has been covered extensively by national and international media over the years. This collage shows some of the press features from publications that have followed my career, from pop hits to my current focus on mentorship.
Being recognized as a "Rockstar" or "An incredible musician" by the press was an honor. I bring that same level of dedication and passion to my consulting work, helping institutions create programs that inspire and achieve excellence.
These media clippings document my journey and my philosophy of blending music with a meaningful cause. This foundation in authentic artistry is what I use to help schools and companies build music cultures that are about more than just technical skill.
About My Story: From MTV Artist to Mentor
My approach to teaching is built on the same rigor I used during my years as a session musician. When you join my programs, we do not just jam; we break down songs into music theory, ear training, and technical drills. This is the same foundation that has helped my students release their own original tracks, and it is how we ensure you are developing real musical literacy rather than just memorizing finger placements.
I started my professional career in the early 2000s, landing albums on Universal Music and getting airtime on MTV. Those experiences were exciting, but the reality of the industry taught me something important: talent alone is not enough. You need the technical tools to back it up.
When I founded Musicology in 2003, I wanted to fix the disconnect I saw in standard music education. Too many students were stuck in hobby classes that focused on rote memorization rather than understanding how music actually works. My goal was to create a place where Bollywood musicians and beginners alike could get the same quality of training.
Today, whether I am consulting for institutions like IIT and VIT or working one-on-one with a student in my Noida studio, the curriculum remains the same. We focus on:
- Theory and Ear Training: Understanding the 'why' behind the sound.
- Technical Drills: Building the physical proficiency to play what you hear in your head.
- Performance: Applying skills in real-world scenarios, whether for a school annual day or a professional stage.
My mentorship is not about playing simple songs to pass the time. It is about equipping you with the skill set to produce, compose, or perform with confidence. If you are ready to stop treating music like a side hobby and start building a real, working foundation, I am here to help you get there.
