A Day in the Life of a Professional Drone Pilot
Ever wonder what it takes to get that perfect aerial shot? From sunrise highway drives to setting up gear in the middle of a wedding, this is the reality behind the controller.
At a wedding event, but my focus is on the next flight. Here I am with my trusty DJI Mavic 3, ready to capture the action from above. If I can't bring my drone, I'm not coming.
A small glimpse into a recent work trip. This shows my journey to Punjab for a real estate drone shoot, from driving at night to flying the drone by the roadside to get the exact shot the client needed.
On location for a shoot in Goa. Even during a wedding season, I'm always ready with my controller in hand, planning the next aerial shot.
This is the life of a drone pilot. The video shows me with my FPV gear, working with clients on-site, and the amazing views I get to see from the rooftops I fly from.
About On The Job: A Drone Pilot's Life
When you book me for an aerial shoot, you’re not just hiring a pilot; you’re getting a one-man crew who treats your project like a personal mission. Whether it’s a 4 AM drive for the golden hour in Punjab or navigating tight spaces at a wedding venue, I handle the logistics, flight safety, and setup entirely on my own, so we don't waste a single minute of available daylight.
My life behind the controller is all about the pursuit of the 'kya view' moment. Whether I'm flying a DJI Mavic 3 for a wide, sweeping real estate property shot or using a custom FPV drone to weave through a hotel lobby, the process is always the same: rigorous safety checks followed by precision flying.
I don't believe in overcomplicating things. I show up, assess the light, scout the best elevation, and fly. For events, this means I’m usually the first one on-site to map the area before the crowd arrives. For real estate, I'm often splitting shifts to catch both the sharp morning light and the atmospheric blue hour to show off architectural details.
Because I operate solo—'Aakela hi kafi ho'—I’m incredibly flexible with travel. I regularly take my gear from Delhi to shoots across India, including luxury resorts in the hills or coastal property tours. When you see those final shots, you're seeing hours of planning, technical execution, and travel boiled down to a single perfect frame.
