About this collection
Before you pick any material for your kitchen or wardrobe, ask yourself how it will hold up after a year of daily use. For example, in kitchens, I always recommend non-porous materials like quartz because they do not stain and are scratch-resistant. Similarly, for cabinets, simple details like using full-height units prevent dust accumulation on top, saving you from a cleaning headache later.
Planning a home renovation involves hundreds of small decisions. At ANJ Interior Design, we believe in being practical first. Whether you are setting up a modular kitchen or customizing wardrobes, the materials you choose determine how much time you spend maintaining your home versus enjoying it.
Essential Material & Design Tips
- Kitchens: Avoid small, textured tiles. They trap grease and dirt, making them difficult to scrub. Go for large, glossy tiles or backsplashes that wipe clean in seconds. Always prioritize high-gloss finishes for cabinets, as they handle daily wear and tear much better than matte alternatives.
- Wardrobes & Finishes: Your budget dictates the aesthetic, but do not ignore durability. Laminates are excellent for high-traffic, cost-effective use. Acrylic adds a premium shine but requires careful handling. PU paint is the gold standard for a seamless, luxurious look that lasts.
- Hardware Matters: Often overlooked, the type of hinge you choose (0, 8, or 15 crank) dictates how your doors open and look. A '0 crank' hinge gives a full overlay, creating that clean, modern modular look you see in professional catalogues.
