Behind the Scenes: Nursery Design & Press Features
A look at my design process, from the first sketches to the details that caught the eye of Architectural Digest.
This is me in Vayu's finished nursery. I pour my heart into every project, and I'm so grateful to my clients, my team, and my family for their trust and support.
It was an absolute honor to have my work on Vayu's nursery featured in Architectural Digest. Seeing my designs in such a prestigious publication was a dream come true.
Designing nurseries is one of the most exciting parts of my work. I love playing with different themes, colors, and fun accessories to create a magical world for a new baby.
About this collection
When I approach a nursery project, I start by thinking about how your child interacts with the room, not just how it looks. Whether we are planning a jungle mural or a Montessori floor layout, I prioritize sustainable materials and non-toxic finishes from day one. It is not just about a pretty space for photos; it is about building a sturdy, functional corner where your little one can actually climb, read, and sleep safely as they grow.
How I Work
My design process is rarely about just picking furniture from a catalog. It begins with understanding your home and your child's personality. If I am designing a room, I look at the spatial flow first. We talk about where the natural light hits, where they will play, and how the furniture needs to adapt as they get older.
I handle everything from the initial floor plans to the final installation of custom wardrobes and climbing walls. Being an architect means I care deeply about structural stability. Whether it is a house-frame bed or a bunk bed with a slide, I ensure every angle is smooth and every joinery is solid.
Why I Focus on Sustainability
I believe the materials in a child's room matter as much as the layout. I use solid Pine, Rubberwood, and Teak, finished with lead-free, non-toxic paints. You will notice in my work that I favor natural textures like cane and rattan. These are not just aesthetic choices; they are durable, breathable, and safer for little hands.
Press and Recognition
I am incredibly grateful for the support my work has received, including being featured in Architectural Digest India. Designing spaces like the nursery for Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's son, Vayu, was a highlight of my career. It reinforced for me that you do not have to choose between a sophisticated design and a space that is genuinely fun for a child.
If you have a theme in mind—or even if you are just starting from an empty room—I would love to help you build something meaningful for your family.
