Handcrafted Kids Furniture with Natural Materials
Beautiful, safe furniture starts with the right materials. I handcraft every piece using solid wood, cane, and non-toxic finishes to create spaces that are as durable as they are lovely.
I love working with natural materials. This is a close-up of the beautiful, intricate weave of natural cane, which I often incorporate into my furniture designs for wardrobes, cribs, and chairs.
The details matter. These custom-made, oversized wooden knobs are not only a beautiful design element but are also easy for small hands to grip, promoting independence.
This detail shot of my wooden play gym shows the beautiful grain of the natural wood and the carefully crafted joinery. I ensure every piece is sanded smooth and built to last.
About this collection
When you look at our pieces, the smoothness of the finish is the first thing you will notice. I make sure every corner is sanded down and every joinery is solid, specifically because I know how active kids can be. It is not just about looking good, it is about making sure the furniture can handle a toddler’s daily adventures without a scratch or a sharp edge.
My approach starts with the selection of materials. I lean heavily on solid Pine, Rubberwood, and Steam Beech for their structural integrity and natural grain. For textures that add warmth and airflow, I incorporate hand-woven cane and rattan. These are not just aesthetic choices. Cane is breathable and flexible, making it ideal for storage shutters or crib panels, while solid wood provides the heavy-duty stability required for bunk beds or climbing walls.
Safety is non-negotiable. Every piece I build uses certified lead-free PU or Duco paints. You will not find sharp corners here. I design with a rounded-edge philosophy, ensuring that even if a child bumps into a table or chair during play, the risk of injury is minimal.
Beyond the raw materials, it is about functionality for small hands. Consider the oversized wooden knobs I use on wardrobes. They are tactile, easy to grip, and encourage independence because your toddler can actually open their own drawers. When I design these pieces, I am thinking about how your child interacts with their room today and how that same furniture will serve them as they grow. Whether it is a crib that transitions into a bed or a bookshelf that finds a new purpose as they get older, my goal is to build furniture that lasts for years, not just seasons.
