About Outdoor Maternity Sessions
Shooting outdoors means we work with the rhythm of the day, specifically aiming for that soft golden hour light to capture your pregnancy glow. Since we are usually in local gardens or fields, I suggest you wear comfortable footwear that you can easily swap for your heels when we start posing. I coordinate with you beforehand to pick a spot in Kolhapur that suits the vibe you want, and because this is often part of a hybrid session, we make sure the transition from studio to nature is smooth and stress-free.
Outdoor photography requires a different kind of preparation compared to controlled studio lighting. When we plan these sessions, I suggest we head out to one of my regular spots around Kolhapur, such as a quiet garden or a lakeside area, where the natural greenery acts as a living backdrop.
My hybrid session is designed to give you the best of both worlds. We spend part of the four hours in the studio with professional lighting and my collection of gowns, then head out for the second half to capture those soft, airy shots in nature. This approach works well because it gives you variety, letting you have formal, dramatic studio portraits alongside candid, relaxed images from the outdoors.
Since we are shooting outside, we keep a close eye on the weather and timing. I recommend we start early in the morning or late in the afternoon to catch that gentle, golden sunlight. The outdoor portion allows for more movement, so I capture those candid laughs and quiet moments that feel very genuine. You get up to three costume changes, including a casual outfit that lets you move freely through the grass or along the paths. It is an opportunity to be less about 'posing' and more about enjoying a walk while we document this journey.
