The Art of Nine Limbs: Advanced Muay Thai Techniques
Move beyond basic fitness. Learn the precise mechanics, traditional counters, and fight-ready tactics of the Art of Nine Limbs in our dedicated fight-camp sessions.
To win, you must understand the art of the counter. I am teaching the 'Paksa Waek Rang' technique, a traditional counter to a swing. We focus on the correct angle of the block to neutralize the threat and create an opening for a devastating knee and elbow strike.
In Muay Thai, we use nine limbs. Here, I demonstrate the 'Hanuman Tawayan', a technique to break an opponent's clinch and use the head to create an opportunity for a powerful strike to the jaw. This is the traditional art.
The smallest details determine the outcome of a fight. In this clip, I explain the critical difference between an inside and an outside uppercut, and why proper positioning is key to landing a clean, effective strike.
About The Art of Nine Limbs: Advanced Techniques
In a real fight, a block is never just a block. In our fight camp, we train specifically for the angles—blocking at the exact degree that neutralizes an opponent's swing while setting up your counter-strike. Whether we are drilling the Paksa Waek Rang or clinch manipulation, we focus on the physics of the move so your body reacts instinctively when the pressure is high.
Muay Thai is a discipline of nine limbs—fists, elbows, knees, shins, and the head. To master this, you must look past simple combinations and understand the biomechanics of every strike. At my academy in Ejipura, we teach the Amarit lineage, a tradition that prioritizes efficiency and real-world application over exhibition.
When we drill techniques like Paksa Waek Rang, we are not just practicing a move. We are learning to recognize the opponent's swing, adjusting our angle to block, and immediately creating an opening for a counter. It is about closing the distance, identifying the vulnerability, and striking with purpose. Similarly, techniques such as Hanuman Tawayan teach you to manipulate the clinch, using the head and hands to break an opponent's guard.
Our fight camp sessions are distinct from general fitness classes. Here, sparring is controlled, technical, and uncompromising. We do not spar to 'play'; we spar to simulate the pressure of the ring. You will learn to handle the adrenaline, manage your distance, and trust your training when exhaustion sets in.
If you are looking for a place to merely hit pads, this is not it. This space is for those who want to understand the mechanics behind the strikes. It is for those who are ready to dedicate themselves to the rigorous path of a warrior, honing their discipline, their mind, and their technique until the movements become a natural extension of themselves.
