Cultural Festivals & Celebrations Aerial Documentation

Festivals in India are too vast to be captured from the ground alone. I use my drone to document the true scale and energy of cultural gatherings, from the fiery glow of Dussehra to the quiet spirit of our traditions.

This dynamic video captures the Dussehra festival celebrations, including the burning of a giant Ravana effigy. It shows my capability to document the vibrant energy and key moments of cultural festivals at night, delivering exciting aerial event coverage.

This short video captures the spirit of Independence Day from the rooftops of Delhi. The aerial shots show families and friends gathering to fly kites, offering a glimpse into a cherished cultural tradition from a top-down perspective.

About this collection

Capturing festivals at night involves more than just a camera in the sky. I use specific low-light ISO settings and strictly maintain safety corridors to fly over large crowds without compromising your event's decorum or security. It is about getting that cinematic wide shot of the procession while keeping the flight path respectful and distant from the gathering.

Festivals are defined by their scale, and from the ground, it is easy to miss the geometry of the crowd or the synchronized energy of a procession. My approach to aerial documentation is to treat the festival as a living landscape. Whether I am shooting the firework display of a Dussehra effigy or the quiet rooftop kite-flying on Independence Day, I am looking for the intersection of culture and composition.

For event organizers, the main concern is usually safety and visibility. I fly DJI drones equipped with high-resolution sensors that allow me to capture events from a safe, legal distance without losing any detail. By using D-Log M profiles, I ensure that the colors of the festival—the bright reds of traditional clothing or the golden glow of festival lights—remain vivid in post-production.

My process for large gatherings starts with a pre-shoot site survey to identify the best vantage points and sun direction. During the event, I switch between rapid reveal flyovers and slow, cinematic orbits to give you a variety of footage. You receive a mix of high-resolution wide-angle photos and 4K aerial reels, processed to look clean even in low-light conditions.

I am Akshansh. I have spent years chasing Delhi’s chaos with my camera, but there is something about festivals—the sheer rhythm of thousands of people moving together—that can only be truly felt from above. When I fly, I look for the patterns in that madness, hoping to turn a moment of celebration into a story you can look back on.
