About this collection
Church ceremonies require a respectful, unobtrusive approach. I focus on anticipating key moments like the walk down the aisle, the exchange of vows, and the lighting of the unity candle while staying out of the way of the officiant and the congregation.
Shooting in a church involves specific constraints, from low-light interiors to strict rules about where a photographer can stand. My goal is to capture the solemnity and the emotional weight of your vows without interrupting the sanctity of the ritual. Whether it is a heritage church in Udupi with stained glass or a modern chapel in Bangalore, I prioritize silent operation and natural light. I use prime lenses for crisp altar portraits and wider shots that show the scale of the architecture. You get images that focus on the quiet glances between you and your partner, the reactions of family in the pews, and the detailed shots of the rings and prayer books. I also make sure to capture the formal group portraits outside the church steps immediately following the service while everyone is still gathered.
