About Celebrating Our Community: Events & Traditions
When you join AES, you're not just a student; you're part of a tradition. Our Middle Schoolers are sorted into one of four 'forts'—Neela, Peela, Laal, or Hara—for year-long, friendly competition. It is exactly this kind of hands-on community building that helps new students find their place the moment they arrive.
At the American Embassy School, we define 'community' as the foundation of student success. We know that students thrive when they feel they belong, which is why we prioritise the social and emotional landscape alongside our academics.
Life Beyond the Classroom
Our approach is built on shared experiences that cut across age groups and nationalities:
- The Activities Mela: This is not a typical club fair. It is a high-energy event where students take the lead in showcasing everything from robotics and debate to journalism and service clubs. It is the first step in finding your niche at AES.
- Celebrating Local Culture: While we are an international school, we are proud to call Delhi home. We embrace this by celebrating Indian Independence Day with assemblies that blend student-led performances, traditional music, and dance, ensuring our students understand and respect the culture surrounding us.
- Forts and Spirit Weeks: In Middle School, 'forts' (Neela, Peela, Laal, and Hara) drive our school spirit. These teams encourage camaraderie and healthy rivalry, turning ordinary school days into memorable, community-building exercises.
We do not just teach students; we nurture a culture of belonging. Whether it is through a Bollywood-style dance welcome or senior walkthroughs, every event is designed to create connections that often last long after graduation. If you are looking for an international school in Delhi that values character as much as curriculum, we invite you to see our community in action.
American Embassy School
We’ve been in Delhi for 73 years, and we’re more than a school; we’re a melting pot of 70+ cultures. Whether it’s an impromptu Bollywood dance or a serious debate in the theatre, we foster a culture of belonging where every student is seen, valued, and encouraged to be their authentic self.
