About Romantic Gestures: Preserved Flowers & Bouquets
People think preserving a bouquet is as simple as pouring liquid over it, but it is really about the prep work. I spend 7-10 days carefully dehydrating each flower in silica sand to keep the shape and colour perfect, because if they don't reach my Delhi studio dry, they won't last. If you are planning to send yours, pack them carefully—the better the condition of the flower when it reaches me, the better the final piece looks.
When I tell you it takes patience, I mean it. Fresh flowers have high moisture content, and if you just pour resin directly over them, they rot or brown instantly. My process is manual and slow: I deconstruct the bouquet, preserve each petal or bloom individually in professional-grade silica, and only once they are dehydrated do I start the design layout.
Whether it is a single red rose from a surprise proposal or a massive anniversary bouquet, I handle it piece by piece. Once the flowers are ready, we can get creative. I can turn them into:
- Resin Blocks & Cubes: Perfect for a single forever rose or a dense cluster of blooms.
- Functional Decor: Think resin coasters, wall clocks, or LED lamps that serve a purpose while holding your memory.
