Let us turn your plain balcony corners into green, blooming spots. Whether it is trailing money plants or bright roses, I will show you how to add life to your space, no matter how small.

A quick tour of the different colored roses blooming on my terrace. We have red, yellow, pink, and peach ones, all thanks to my dadaji.

So many red roses in bloom. They add such a vibrant pop of color to the garden and make the whole space feel more alive.

Look at this gorgeous deep red rose, covered in morning dew. This color is just so rich and velvety, it's one of my absolute favorites.

My first white marigold grown from seed. The sunlight hitting the delicate white and yellow petals makes it look so heavenly.

Another shot of the beautiful white marigold. My next goal is to save seeds from this flower to grow more next season.

A sea of orange marigolds blooming happily on the terrace. They are great companion plants for vegetables and help keep pests away.

A time-lapse of a yellow rain lily opening up as the sun comes out. It's magical to watch flowers respond to the light.

About this collection

Most people think they need a big yard for a flowering garden, but you would be surprised what a 6-inch pot and a little morning sun can do. I have grown everything from delicate rain lilies to robust roses on simple balcony railings. The trick is not about buying expensive setups, but knowing exactly which plant loves your specific window direction, because if you get the sunlight right, your balcony will be blooming soon.

If your balcony feels a bit dull, adding just a few strategic pots can change the entire vibe. I start with Pothos (money plants) and Syngoniums for that lush, trailing green curtain effect. They are forgiving, grow fast, and instantly soften harsh concrete walls.

For color, I swear by seasonal staples like Marigolds. Not only do they look happy, but they also act as natural pest deterrents for your other plants. Roses, though, are a personal favorite. Watching my dadaji's rose varieties bloom in shades of red, yellow, and peach right on my terrace is quite special.

Do not worry if you do not have fancy hanging planters. I use old dabba, coffee mugs, and jute ropes to create vertical trellis systems for trailing vines. It is all about the four Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose. Whether you are dealing with a windy high-rise window or a shaded balcony, we can pick the right mix of flowers and foliage that will actually survive. You do not need a green thumb to start, just a little curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
