About Tai Chi Classes
Why I Teach Tai Chi
Martial arts has shaped me for 45+ years. For me, Tai Chi isn’t just about self defense or fancy moves. It’s about building inner strength, staying healthy, and growing as a person. That’s what I try to pass on. Some students call me Maa lee, but honestly, what matters more is seeing folks gain confidence and move better, at any age.
What My Classes Feel Like
My Tai Chi classes are all about slow, flowing movement. We don’t chase speed or aggression. Instead, I teach you to move with intention, focus on balance, and find calm inside. Sessions are outdoors around Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru - I think being in fresh air helps you connect with the energy around you.
Expect to learn graceful forms like ‘When the snake creeps down’ and other sequences. For many, it feels like a mix between gentle movement practice and meditation.
Who Can Join?
Anyone curious about Tai Chi is welcome, but I’ve seen it do wonders for seniors, especially for improving balance and mobility. My ‘Wellness and Mobility for Seniors’ sessions are gentle, and there’s no rush or competition. If you want to stay active, find quiet in your day, and work on your health, this could be for you.
The Real Reward
Watching people find their feet - literally and mentally - is the best part of my job. If you’re ready to try meditative martial arts in a relaxed, outdoor setting, let’s start this journey together.

My Story
We’re the Institute of Wellness and Martial Arts, but folks call me Maa lee sometimes, thanks to my students. Been at this for 45 years, teaching martial arts is more than a job - it’s my heartbeat. Watching kids like Advaith kick high and seeing seniors stretch for the first time, that’s what keeps me going. Every small win, every new belt, it’s a celebration. This place is for anyone wanting to build strength, health, and some real confidence.
