Mindful Moments and Yoga Philosophy
Yoga is an inner journey, not just a series of poses. Here is how I use ancient wisdom and mindful movement to help you find balance in the chaos of daily life.
"What if that rejection was redirection? What if your struggles are shaping you for something bigger?" This voiceover captures a core belief of mine. Yoga therapy helps us see that life is happening for us, not to us.
"Detachment is not that you own nothing. Detachment is that nothing owns you." This verse from the Bhagavad Gita is a guiding principle. This meditative flow is an exploration of that idea, finding freedom by being present with everything.
*Santosh param sukham*. This Sanskrit phrase, meaning contentment is the highest happiness, is the foundation of my practice. It's not about perfection, but about finding joy in the process.
While the body benefits from movement, the mind benefits from stillness. This simple flow from a backbend to a forward fold is a moving meditation, a practice of finding that quiet center.
"Out of the eight limbs of yoga, why is only the pursuit of perfection in asanas scorned upon?" A thought I had during practice. My teaching εταιρεία focuses on all eight limbs, understanding that the physical poses are just one part of a much deeper journey.
Thanking my mat for holding space for every version of me. The mat is a non-judgmental friend, always there to support you, whether you feel strong or vulnerable.
Everything I know about my light was taught to me by my darkness. This drop-back practice is a physical manifestation of moving through challenges to find strength and openness.
About this collection
When we work together, we do not just focus on physical alignment. I use the principle of Santosh Param Sukham (contentment is the ultimate happiness) to help you build a sense of calm, even on days when stress feels overwhelming. In my therapy sessions, we combine targeted breathwork with these core concepts to help you manage your unique needs, rather than just running through a standard, cookie-cutter class sequence.
Finding Your Center in the Chaos
Many people come to yoga for the flexibility, but they stay because of the stillness it brings to the mind. My approach to yoga therapy is rooted in the belief that your mat should be a non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are—whether you are tired, strong, or feeling broken.
Philosophy as a Practical Tool
Yoga philosophy isn't just for reading; it is a tool for living. Whether we are working on injury rehab or stress management, I integrate techniques that go beyond the physical. We practice pranayama (breathwork) to activate the vagus nerve and help regulate your nervous system. We use dharana (concentration) to help you stay present when life feels like it is moving too fast.
What Our Sessions Look Like
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all. Every session starts with listening to your story. If you are a mother juggling work and kids, we focus on restorative poses that help you fill your own cup. If you are dealing with chronic pain or posture issues, we use props like the yoga wheel to safely build strength and spinal mobility.
My goal is to give you tools you can use off the mat. From 1-minute breathing drills for your office hours to bedtime routines for insomnia, we will build a practice that fits your lifestyle, not the other way around. Let's work together to make you 1% better every day.
Suhani Singh
I’m Suhani. My mat has seen me through the stillness of mountains and the chaos of two boys crawling over me. I believe yoga is an inner journey—it’s about showing up as you are, whether you’re broken, strong, or just tired.
