Custom Pooja Units and Sacred Spaces
A pooja unit should be a quiet corner that feels right for your daily rituals, whether you live in a compact apartment or a larger home. I work with you to make sure your sacred space blends perfectly with your home's aesthetic while keeping it practical and functional.
A home’s spiritual corner should be a place of peace. This video shows two different pooja units we designed: one is a modern, backlit arched niche, and the other features traditional woodwork with detailed shelving for idols.
Two distinct styles of mandirs we have created. The first is a traditional, hand-carved wooden temple, while the second is a contemporary unit with an elegant backlit "Om" symbol.

This video shows a wooden pooja unit with fluted glass doors and auspicious symbols cut into the wood. It is integrated seamlessly next to the living room's TV unit.
We created this traditional Maratha-inspired seating area, which also serves as a spiritual corner with a portrait of Shivaji Maharaj. The space is complemented by a beautiful golden jaali door for the pooja unit.
About this collection
I always suggest planning the lighting and electrical points for your pooja unit before we even touch the woodwork. Whether you want a soft, backlit Om symbol or bright, focused spot lighting, getting the wiring hidden and clean is the secret to that premium, distraction-free look I aim for in every home.
Designing a sacred space in a city like Mumbai often means dealing with limited room. My process focuses on maximizing that space without compromising on the traditional or contemporary look you want.
How I Approach Your Mandir
- Design Flexibility: I don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Some clients prefer a traditional, hand-carved wooden temple, while others want a sleek, wall-mounted unit that integrates into their TV wall or a partition.
- Material Matters: I use premium materials like 18mm BWP marine-grade plywood and durable laminates. For the decorative elements, we use CNC-cut jaali work that is precise and clean, allowing for beautiful shadows and light play.
- Smart Lighting: This is where the 'divine' feel really comes in. I use profile LED lighting and soft, warm backlighting to highlight the idols and the intricate carvings.
Why Detailed Planning Works
Because I supervise the site personally, we solve the common problems before they start. We ensure the pooja unit is placed in a spot that respects your home flow and that the storage compartments for diya oil, wicks, and books are actually accessible.
When we sit down to discuss your requirements, I will show you 3D designs so you know exactly how the unit will look in your specific corner. No guesswork, no last-minute changes on site. Let's build a space that truly resonates with your family's daily life.
