Our Approach to Dog Care and Advocacy
We believe that every dog deserves a vacation, not just a place to stay. Here is our philosophy on responsible care, nutrition, and why we always push for adoption.
We are often asked why we champion Indian dogs, or Indies. They are perfectly adapted to our climate, have strong immune systems, and are incredibly intelligent and loving companions.
Is your dog bored at home? We explain why mental stimulation and new experiences are crucial for a dog's well being. A stay at our boarding facility can be a great way to provide that.
Proper nutrition is key to a healthy dog. Here we share some expert advice on feeding schedules to help you establish a healthy routine for your pet at home.
About Our Beliefs: Dog Care & Advocacy
We believe in routine, even at home. For example, feeding your dog on a strict schedule instead of leaving kibble out all day not only prevents messy eaters from grazing, but it is the fastest way to spot if they are not feeling well. We practice this here because a healthy dog is a happy dog, and consistency is key to their comfort.
At Woof and Tails, our advocacy starts with how we treat our guests in Yelahanka. We are strong believers in 'adopt, don't shop.' Indian dogs (Indies) are the perfect companions for our climate—they have fewer health issues, are incredibly intelligent, and adapt quickly to city life. When you choose to adopt, you are not just saving a life; you are gaining a loyal friend built for the local environment.
Boredom is another common issue we tackle. Many dogs act out because they lack a job or mental stimulation. We do not just keep them in kennels; we use a 6,480 sq ft off-leash area with agility equipment to tire them out mentally and physically. If your dog is getting into trouble at home, they might just need a change of pace and more social interaction.
We also prioritize natural nutrition. Whether it is the timing of meals or the quality of ingredients, small adjustments make a big difference. We cook fresh meals daily because we know that processed food is not always the best for every dog's system. If you are struggling with a picky eater or a dog that needs more energy, come talk to us. We are happy to share what we have learned from years of caring for all sorts of personalities, from tiny pups to giant breeds.
Woof And Tails
We are Woof and Tails, a team of dog lovers in Yelahanka who treat every guest like our own brother. We started this place to give dogs a real vacation with plenty of space to run, not just a kennel to sit in.
