Terrace and Balcony Makeover Ideas
Turn your empty roof or balcony into a relaxing hangout spot. Here are a few ways I transform small, unused spaces into luxury outdoor areas on a realistic budget.
This is how I turn an empty, unused roof into a modern and elegant outdoor living area. The project involved building a custom metal pergola for shade, installing stylish terrazzo-style floor tiles, and creating a complete seating arrangement. I also added a calming water feature and a wooden swing to make it the perfect spot for relaxing.
Many clients ask for ideas for their small balconies, so I put together some of my top concepts. I can create anything from a cozy reading nook with a swing chair to a vibrant green space using a vertical garden wall. We can explore different styles, whether you prefer modern, bohemian, or something in between.
I believe in being on-site to get the job done right. Here you can see me personally supervising my team during the installation of wooden deck flooring for a client's balcony. This hands-on approach ensures that every detail is perfect and the quality of work is exactly what you expect.
About Featured
For outdoor projects, I prioritize WPC decking and UV-protected foliage because local weather conditions in NCR are tough on standard materials. My process focuses on durable, weather-proof waterproofing first, then the decor, so you get a space that lasts without constant repairs.
When I take on a terrace or balcony project, my goal is to give you a spot you will actually use. Many clients come to me with a basic concrete slab and think it is too small or too expensive to fix, but that is rarely the case.
My Approach to Outdoor Spaces
- Durability First: I use WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) interlocking tiles because they are termite-proof and handle rain better than natural wood. For pergolas, I stick to high-grade MS hollow pipes with anti-rust primer and high-gloss paint to ensure the structure holds up against the elements.
- Smart Layouts: For small balconies, I focus on verticality. Whether it is a wall-mounted vertical garden or a hanging swing, I try to clear the floor space so the area feels bigger than it actually is.
- Lighting: Lighting is what changes the mood from 'construction site' to 'cafe vibe.' I usually recommend a mix of IP65 waterproof spot lights for the walls and a simple cane-style pendant light to create a warm, cozy environment.
On-Site Supervision
I do not just hand over drawings to a team. I am personally at the site to check the levels, the screws, and the wiring. If the false ceiling cut is not clean or the lighting is not fitted properly, it will show later. I ensure the execution is tight so you do not deal with cracking or water leakage issues later on. If you have an unused balcony or a rough terrace, let us chat about how to fix it within your budget.
