Himalayan Off-Road Expedition Photography
I document your 4x4 expeditions against the raw, snow-dusted backdrop of the Himalayas. From treacherous high-altitude passes to river crossings, I turn your journey into cinematic stories.

About Himalayan Off-Road Expeditions
When you are deep in the mountains, you need visuals that match the scale of the drive. I do not just tag along; I handle the full documentation, including aerial drone shots of your convoy winding through passes and action-cam footage of those river crossings. Most importantly, I provide daily 15-second teaser clips so you have content to share while the trip is still happening.
Shooting in places like Spiti or the high-altitude Western Ghats is not like a standard car shoot. It is an endurance test for both the gear and the person behind the lens.
My Approach to Expedition Documentation
- Aerial Perspectives: I use drone cinematography to capture the scale of your convoy against barren mountain landscapes and snow-capped peaks. It shows the car not just as a vehicle, but as a small part of a vast, epic journey.
- POV & Motion: By mounting action cameras on the vehicle exterior, I catch those splash shots in river crossings and the dust kicked up on dirt trails—angles you cannot get from the side of the road.
- The Candid Element: The drive is about more than just the machine. I document the campfire moments, the tea breaks, and the reality of life on the road. These shots capture the human connection behind the expedition.
Technical Reality
I treat expedition shoots with a documentary mindset. We start filming at sunrise and often go until sunset. I am prepared for the harsh conditions—cold, altitude, and unpredictable weather—that define these drives. You will receive a 3 to 5-minute final film that summarizes the entire trip, along with a raw dump of 50+ photographs so you have a complete archive of the adventure. If you are planning an expedition, let's talk about the route and where the best spots for cinematic footage might be.
Tanmay Kamatkar
I started shooting with a phone on the streets of Mumbai, but the mountains are where I found my true rhythm. I don’t just photograph your vehicle; I document the entire journey, the grit, the silence, and the thrill of the climb.
