Designer Stepping Stone Pathways
Hard Inclusions
- Stone Material: Flamed Granite (Grey/Black) or Natural Sandstone slabs cut to geometric shapes.
- Dimensions: Standard thickness of 20mm to 25mm to prevent cracking. Slabs sized approx 2ft x 1.5ft.
- Base Layer: 2-3 inch bed of compacted river sand or stone dust for leveling and drainage.
- Gap Filler: Integration of Mexican Carpet Grass or River Pebbles between stones.
Soft Inclusions
- Design Layout: Curved or straight alignment planning to create depth.
- Anti-Weed Treatment: Basic weed control layer beneath the pathway area.
- Finishing: Edge trimming of grass around stones for a floating effect.
Heavy-Duty Interlocking Pavers
Hard Inclusions
- Paver Material: High-density concrete interlocking pavers (Zig-zag, I-shape, or Rectangular). Thickness: 60mm (Walkways) to 80mm (Driveways).
- Sub-Base: 3 to 4-inch layer of compacted GSB (Granular Sub-Base) to prevent sinking.
- Bedding: 1-2 inch layer of screeded sand.
- Edge Restraints: Concrete kerb stones or border pavers cemented in place to lock the pavement.
Soft Inclusions
- Slope Management: Grading the surface to ensure water runoff away from buildings.
- Pattern Selection: Choice of laying patterns like Herringbone, Stretcher Bond, or Basket Weave.
- Compaction: Final vibratory plate compaction to lock pavers into the sand bed.
Decorative Pebble & Stone Beds
Hard Inclusions
- Aggregates: Mix of Polished White Pebbles (1-2 inch size) or River Stones/Gravel.
- Weed Control: Installation of heavy-duty Geotextile Fabric (Weed Mat) beneath stones to prevent weed growth.
- Edging: Concealed plastic or visible concrete/brick edging to contain the pebbles.
- Planting Pockets: Cut-outs in the mat for drought-tolerant plants (plants charged separately).
Soft Inclusions
- Material Washing: Thorough washing of stones prior to installation to remove dust.
- Texture Styling: Arranging stones by size or color to create visual textures.
- Drainage Check: Verification that the layer allows water percolation without pooling.
Brick & Stone Garden Borders
Hard Inclusions
- Structure: Construction using chamber bricks or solid concrete blocks.
- Foundation: Minimal PCC footing to prevent toppling.
- Finish: Plastered and painted (Weatherproof) OR clad with basic stone/terracotta tiles.
- Coping: A polished granite or stone strip on the top edge.
- Dimensions: Standard height up to 12 inches and width of 4 to 6 inches.
Soft Inclusions
- Shape Customization: Execution of curved or wavy borders to soften garden edges.
- Integration: Seamless merging with adjacent lawn or hardscape levels.

I mix hard surfaces with greenery, so things look natural but stay tough. Sometimes the stones shift a bit or the pebbles scatter - that's normal, and I keep it real about how things settle with time.
What I Build

- Borders and ground cover: I use decorative pebble borders and river rocks to keep things tidy and easy to maintain.

I start with a chat - unga idea sollunga (tell me your ideas). I’ll sketch out some options, even show you 3D if you want. Once you pick, I get my team moving, keeping you in the loop. I use good materials but also know how to work with what you already have. After finishing, I can help maintain the stonework so it stays sharp, but honestly, things might need a little touch-up now and then.
