As Seen In Vogue: Our Design Philosophy
Looking back at the feature that helped define our early approach to immersive, story-driven event design.
This is a snapshot of my feature in Vogue, which was a significant milestone for my business. The article recognized my unique approach to event styling, and it remains a proud moment that represents my dedication to creating beautiful, story-driven experiences.
About As Seen In
This Vogue feature from 2011 remains a defining milestone for me because it captured the exact moment I was learning to balance professional event design with the realities of life. Being pregnant during that shoot taught me that the best events aren't just visually polished; they are grounded in the messy, beautiful, human experiences that we are actually living.
When Vogue profiled my work back in 2011, it wasn't just a press clipping. It validated my desire to be an 'event sculptor' rather than just a decorator. At that time, I was balancing the growth of The Whole Nine Yards with the anticipation of my daughter's arrival, and that duality has shaped every project I have taken on since.
Today, that same philosophy guides how I approach product launches in Bengaluru and intimate birthday celebrations. Whether I am setting up an 8x8ft hedge wall for a brand activation or sourcing specific tropical florals for a photoshoot, the goal is the same: to create a physical space that feels like a natural extension of the client's story.
I treat every project as a dialogue. My process involves mood board creation, hands-on prop sourcing, and a focus on details that make sense for your specific brand or family narrative. I don't believe in cookie-cutter setups. If a space feels too clinical, I add textures and layers until it feels inviting. If a launch feels too stiff, I introduce interactive elements or quirky signage to get people talking. If you are looking for design that feels intentional and distinctly yours, let's talk about the story you want to tell.
