About Urgent Needs & Campaigns
Our sanctuary requires three tons of fresh, nutritious food every single day to keep our 1,800 residents healthy. When an urgent campaign is active, it is not for a luxury or a special project, but for the fundamental resources—rice, chicken, and essential medicines—needed to sustain these dogs through the month.
Every dog here has a story of survival, from accident victims to those with permanent medical needs. Our facility is not a temporary shelter. For these animals, VOSD is their forever home. Because we refuse to take government funding, we are entirely accountable to the public who supports us.
The Reality of Our Monthly Costs
Managing the health and nutrition of 1,800 dogs is an immense operational task. Our monthly expenses include:
- Food Security: We must procure and prepare 3,000kg of food daily, including special soft diets for our geriatric and toothless residents.
- Medical & Therapy: Many of our rescues arrive with severe trauma, brain injuries, or paralysis. Your support covers painkillers, antibiotics, liver tonics, and ongoing physiotherapy sessions.
- Assisted Living: We maintain specialized enclosures, including non-abrasive flooring and hygiene supplies like diapers, to provide dignity to dogs with physical disabilities.
