I don't just teach steps, I tell stories. Whether it is a Kathak-based classical piece or a contemporary stage production, I focus on capturing raw emotion and character in every movement.

A look at "Murali Manohar," a Kathak based piece telling the story of Radha and Krishna. I love exploring classical Indian dance to portray timeless stories of love and devotion.

A beautiful shot from our Janmashtami special video, portraying the divine love of Radha and Krishna through Kathak. The costumes and setting were designed to evoke the feel of Vrindavan.

Capturing the dynamic energy of Lord Krishna in a leap. This photo from our Kathak production shows the blend of athleticism and grace that classical dance requires.

Another powerful mid-air pose from the "Murali Manohar" piece. Portraying Krishna, I focused on embodying his playful and powerful character through expressive movement.

A close up shot as Krishna from our Janmashtami project. The makeup and details, like the peacock feather, are essential for bringing a character to life in a narrative dance piece.

A tender moment between Radha and Krishna. In narrative choreography, conveying emotion and the relationship between characters is just as important as the steps themselves.

A performance of "Kaahe Chhed Mohe" from the film Devdas. We explored Kathak movements and intricate formations to capture the elegance and grace of this iconic song.

A poster for "Hurriya," a contemporary dance theatre production I performed in. This piece, inspired by the novel 'A Thousand Splendid Suns,' explored deep feelings of hopelessness, rage, and courage.

Playing the character of Rasheed in "Hurriya" was a challenging journey. It required me to step into a role completely opposite to my own personality, using movement to tell a dark and complex story.

About Beyond Garba: Contemporary & Narrative Dance

When we work on narrative choreography, I focus on the 'why' behind every movement. Whether it is a Kathak-based classical piece or a contemporary production like Hurriya, I help you map out the emotions—tension, devotion, or conflict—so the audience connects with the character. I do not just teach patterns, I build the logic of the performance with you.
