About Ethereal & Fantasy Themes
Most of these fantasy looks rely on a mix of real-world props and digital compositing. When you step into my studio for an ethereal session, we are essentially building a scene from scratch, adjusting the lighting to match the wings, the floating cards, or the snowy backdrop in post-production. It is a collaborative process where we decide on the mood first, then I handle the heavy lifting of bringing that specific dreamscape to life in the final frames.
How We Build Your Fantasy
These sessions are quite different from standard portraiture because we are crafting a narrative. Whether you want to be the 'Queen of Hearts' or a celestial figure against a starry backdrop, the process starts with planning.
- The Concept: Before you arrive at my HRBR Layout studio, we discuss your vision. If you love the idea of angel wings or whimsical fairytale themes, we curate the specific props—like macrame, pampas grass, or hand-painted backgrounds—that will anchor the shot.
- The Execution: Once in the studio, we work with controlled lighting to ensure that when we composite the final image, the shadows and highlights look natural. This is why I often recommend the Royal Luxury Experience for these sets; it gives us the full five hours to switch between complex setups and costume changes without rushing the creative flow.
- The Wardrobe: Fantasy shoots often require specific silhouettes to sell the effect. My studio wardrobe includes gowns that flow and drape to match the theme, whether it is a dramatic red fabric for a playing card concept or something lighter for a cloud-like landscape.
We generally recommend booking these sessions between weeks 27 and 34 of your pregnancy. This is usually when the bump is perfectly prominent, and you still have the energy to move around the set and enjoy the process of creating these images.
