About this collection
When we shoot traditional looks, the biggest challenge is often feeling natural while wearing heavier outfits like silk sarees or sherwanis. I do not ask you to stand still for hours. We keep it moving—walking, laughing, and interacting naturally—so you do not look stiff in your photos. I will guide your movements and suggest small adjustments like lowering your chin or holding hands, but the main goal is to let the fabric and the tradition complement your actual relationship, not overpower it.
Traditional photoshoots can sometimes feel restrictive, but they do not have to be. Whether you are wearing a classic Paithani saree or a well-fitted kurta, the goal is to capture the two of you, not just the costume.
Why Traditional Shoots Feel Different
Ethnic wear often changes how we move. A saree limits your stride, and a sherwani changes your posture. Instead of fighting that, we work with it. We incorporate candid moments where you are fixing each other's pleats or walking slowly, which creates a regal yet intimate aesthetic.
My Approach to Ethnic Portraits
- Comfort First: If the jewelry or outfit is heavy, we take breaks. The more comfortable you are, the better the final shots look.
- Natural Lighting: We avoid harsh studio lights. I prefer using the soft glow of golden hour or the warm, ambient light found in traditional venues to make your outfits pop without needing heavy editing.
- Posing with Purpose: I don't do 'pose-heavy' direction. I focus on prompts—telling you to whisper something to each other or laugh about a shared memory—which brings out genuine expressions.
Planning Your Session
Whether you are based in Navi Mumbai or visiting, we can find locations that suit your heritage vibe, from garden settings to traditional architecture. If you have specific cultural rituals you want to capture, let me know in advance so we can ensure the light and background are perfect.
I also mix in close-ups of your henna or jewelry details to round out the story. These are not just portraits; they are a record of your style and the way you connect, captured in your most elegant attire. If you are worried about the camera, remember that I am there to make sure you look like yourselves, just on your best day.
